PPSSC Chairman, Ikediugwu, Emphasizes Commitment to Quality and Skill-Based Education

The Chairman, Post Primary School Service Commission, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu has assured that no stone will be left unturned to ensure the best education is provided for Anambra children.

Professor Ikediugwu who gave the assurance at the PPSSC Corporate headquarters, Awka during a media chat said that the education system in Anambra has already taken a new shape since Governor Soludo came onboard.

The PPSSC boss during the interview, pointed out some of their activities towards ensuring a sound and competitive education in Anambra to include, training and retraining of staff on best global practices and ICT compliancy, weekly monitoring and evaluation, training of school prefects, inculcation of discipline and reading culture in students, making the environment to be conducive for learning, among others.

Professor Ikediugwu praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his determination in building strong human resources to secure the future of the state.

While noting that quality and skill based education is the foundation of any progressive society, Professor Ikediugwu maintained her resolve to upscale the quality of teaching to be in line with the agenda of Governor Soludo.

While saying that Anambra has remained a brand in education going by the performance of the students in external competitions and examinations, Professor Ikediugwu noted that plans are underway for more quality teachers to be injected into the system and also to improve on the available infrastructure for a better learning and teaching environment.

Professor Ikediugwu called for more private and community partnership to consolidate on the efforts of the state government to have a limitless achievement in the education sector.

She further called on teachers to be at their best so that Anambra will continue to perform excellently outside the state, adding that measures are being put in place for adequate security of teachers, students and school facilities.

She encouraged the students to shun unruly behavior and concentrate more on their academics to enable them acquire skills and knowledge that will earn them a better life in the future.
