Japanese Man Who Spent $14,000 To Transform Into Dog

A Japanese guy has invested more than $15,000 to realize his lifelong desire to turn into a four-legged creature.

A rough-collie outfit costing 2 million Japanese yen, or roughly $15,700, was made for the man, who only goes by the Twitter handle “Toco”

In April 2022, Toco posted a video to Twitter in which he could be seen rolling around on the ground while wearing a rough-collie outfit and making a “paw” gesture in the video

In a video uploaded to Toco’s YouTube page, where he has more than 32,000 fans, he can be seen playing fetch and frolicking while wearing the outfit. 

Toco even posted a video of himself going out in public for the first time as a dog.

Toco was  seen wearing the outfit and taking his first steps outside in a recent video that has gone viral on social media. He encounters other dogs who appear to be captivated by his presence, gets met and petted by a woman who poses as his owner, waves to people with his paw, and rolls around on the ground.

At the time of writing, his most recent video showing him making his first public appearance in pooch form had received over six million views.

People in the comments were split between those who believed the outfit was well-made and realistic and those who thought the whole thing was just too strange.

“My favorite is quadrupedal animals, especially cute ones. Among them, I thought that a big animal close to me would be good, considering that it would be a realistic model, so I decided to make it a dog,” he told Japanese outlet Mynavi.

“I remember writing in my grade school graduation book that I wanted to be a dog and walk outside.”

Toco has never been seen on video without his $2,000 (or $15,000) dog outfit. He decided on his favorite breed, the collie, and bought the costume from Zeppet, a Japanese company known for producing sculptures and movie props. The costume took Zeppet 40 days to create, and according to Toco, he is still making minor  to make it right.

Toco said: ‘I thought a big animal close to my size would be good considering that it would be a realistic model, so I decided to make it a dog.’

He added that : ‘There are restrictions, but you can move in it. However, if you move too much, it will not look like a dog.’ 

He claimed that he selected the rough collie breed since it is both his preference and more convenient for the costume. Another deciding factor was the fact that the size difference with humans is not that much.

Toco admitted in a video from a year ago that he was hesitant to go out in public as a dog and to tell people close to him about his desire, even though his YouTube channel had millions of viewers worldwide.

Toco has unsurprisingly faced criticism for his attempts to resemble a dog since his videos went viral on social media, with some advising him to seek counseling and others calling it a fetish.

Toco responded to the comments by saying, “I’m really sad that people may think that. It’s not a fetish. I prefer to pretend to be a collie since I adore animals.

“Since this is my pastime, I shall continue. It brings happiness to both me and other individuals.

Toco makes a fun request for dog food in one of his most recent films, just as any other furry companion would. He can be seen wagging his tail excitedly as he waits for his dinner on camera. Toco eagerly eats the meal as it is delivered, eating each piece. The scene is charming and intriguing, making viewers wonder what dog food tastes like.

Toco’s unconventional eating habits have amused and inspired fans all around the world as he continues to film his life as a Rough Collie on his YouTube channel. While his metamorphosis into a dog may seem strange, it serves as a reminder that aspirations have no limits and that accepting the unexpected is frequently a part of living life to the fullest.

In a different video, a woman tosses a ball at Toco to catch before he uses his lips to put the ball back in her hand.

Additionally, Toco uploaded a video of himself performing dog tricks, like putting his paw on the woman’s hand and rolling around the floor.

He claimed that he decided to transform into a collie since it appeared more realistic.
