Facebook to Allow Artists Charge Fans to Access their Live Streams

It is no news that every industry was affected by the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020 and the music industry has been significantly affected by the pandemic which has also had a negative impact on musicians’ pay. In 2020, Facebook said that it would start charging for live streams in order to enable musicians and other creators to monetize their performances during the challenging period.

Facebook has revealed that it will soon implement a feature that will enable producers to charge users to watch live streaming on their social media platform. 

Facebook announced the move via its Newsroom. “To support creators and small businesses, we plan to add the ability for Pages to charge for access to events with Live videos on Facebook – anything from online performances, classes, or professional conferences,” the company said.
