Deputy Governor of CBN, Aishah Ahmad, Not Under Arrest

In the light of the ongoing investigation into the activities of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), all senior officials of the Central Bank are actively cooperating with interviews conducted by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the appointed special investigator. Notably, the deputy governors are fully participating in this process, offering essential information as required. It is crucial to underscore that this is a routine procedure designed to support the ongoing investigation.

In a recent phone conversation with a close family member of Deputy Governor Aishah Ahmad, who is not authorized to speak on the matter, it was unequivocally confirmed that she is safe and sound, with no involvement in any DSS detention. The family member stated, “I wish to reassure everyone that Aishah Ahmad is at home with her family and is not detained by the DSS. She is safe and sound.”

In these times, maintaining clarity and relying solely on verified information is of paramount importance. Mrs. Ahmad’s cooperation with the authorities exemplifies her dedication to transparency and due process. It is imperative that the public exercise discretion when evaluating news reports and refrain from engaging with baseless rumors or misinformation.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) plays a pivotal role in the nation’s economic stability, and it is essential that the investigative process is allowed to proceed unhindered.
